Support your child's success in school!

October 3 **NOTE: On this day only, class starts at 10am.

What is your vision for your child’s future? Developing that vision will help guide you in determining school-based options to support their educational success. We’ll also share ways to improve communication skills and teamwork.

October 10

CSE? IEP? What do those mean and how can they help? Learn about the continuum of supports and services available to students. In the afternoon, we’ll discuss strategies to plan for meetings with your child’s school team – and how to solve problems collaboratively.

October 17

Let’s start the day discussing the pathways to graduation available to students who have disabilities in NYS. If your child has challenging behaviors, learn about their specific rights regarding discipline and suspension. We’ll wrap up the day talking about ways to recognize your stress and take care of yourself.

November 7

When bullying becomes an issue, families and students need help and support in knowing how to respond. We will also discuss the district’s role in responding to reports of bulling. After lunch, we will focus on the transition process from high school to life after school.

November 14

As students move into adulthood, they often must consider when and whether to disclose their disability. We will discuss the choices involved, advantages and disadvantages, and personal preference in disclosing.

We’ll also examine the many adult service system options available to young adults and adults with disabilities. Finally, we will celebrate your graduation!
