Understanding Special Education Regulations & Tips to Improve Outcomes

To be an effective advocate for your child, it helps to have a strong understanding of special education regulations along with effective communications skills. Our presenters will share valuable information, tips, and strategies. At the end of the day, you will feel ready to work with your child’s school team to meet your child’s needs in a positive, proactive way!

The day’s schedule:

 8:30-9:00am   Registration 
 9:00-10:15am   NYSED Regulations related to Special Education (Part 200) 
 10:15-10:30am  Break  
 10:30am-12:00pm   NYSED Regulations related to Special Education (Part 200) continued 
 12:00-12:30pm  Lunch
 12:30-2:00pm   Effective Communication
 2:00-3:00pm  Communication Through Letter Writing
 3:00-3:30pm  Wrap up, Evaluations


Light refreshments and lunch will be provided.


Registration is required. This workshop is FREE to family members of children who have disabilities or suspected disabilities.
