Become an effective advocate for your child's success in school

Students who have disabilities or suspected disabilities may be eligible for additional supports and services through their school. For families, the acronyms and processes can seem overwhelming to start. Join us for a day of useful information and effective strategies to help you and your child navigate special education options. We'll also discuss school anxiety and avoidance, positive behavior interventions, and advocacy steps to improve collaboration with your child's school team.

The day’s schedule:

 9:00-10:30am     IEP: The Essentials
 10:30-10:45   Break
 10:45-noon   School Anxiety & Avoidance
 12:00-12:30pm    Lunch
 12:30-1:30pm   Functional Behavior Assessments & Behavior Intervention Plans
 1:30-1:45pm   Break
 1:45-3:00pm   Advocacy Steps


Registration is required. This workshop is FREE to family members of children and youth who have disabilities or suspected disabilities.
