Understanding and Supporting Children with Challenging Behaviors

November 08, 2019 12:00 pm until 2:00 pm
At Exceptional Family Resources - Syracuse
1820 Lemoyne Ave, Syracuse, NY 13208, USA
315-478-1462 ext 337

When you are tired, frustrated, scared or overwhelmed, how do you let someone know? Children who have disabilities sometimes don’t have the vocabulary or self-awareness to express their needs. Their behavior is their way to communicate with the adults in their lives. So what can adults do to support children with challenging behaviors and hopefully prevent or decrease behaviors in the future?

Join us to discuss:

  • Factors that influence behavior
  • What differentiates typical from challenging behavior
  • What adults can do to prevent challenging behaviors
  • Strategies to promote positive behaviors – at home and at school

Registration is required. This workshop is FREE to family members.
