Categories: Webinar

The Greater Rochester Special Education Task Force presents a 5-part series on supporting student engagement during the return to in-person learning.

With the return to full in-person learning on the heels of the pandemic, successful student engagement has perhaps more challenges than ever before. This webinar will be the first in a 5-part series addressing these potential barriers and will specifically tackle how to acknowledge and work to overcome the stress and anxiety that family systems and individual students may feel about returning to school. Yes, the struggle can be real… but together we can help our children to return, engage, build resilience, and meet with success!

Part 1 - Anxiety: This presentation will focus on anxiety, including reviewing what it is, how it presents, and factors that may impact how it presents. Time will be spent talking about strategies for addressing anxiety, including recommendations for caregivers, educators and school team members, and other community members. Resources will be provided.

Presenter: Ally Jordon, PhD., Psychologist in Developmental and Behavioral Pediatrics, UMRC

Other topics will include Peer Relations, Social Media and Technology Addiction Issues, Supporting Instructional Gaps, and Supporting Students in Regaining Executive Function Skills.
