Now more than ever students, families and school staff need support around behaviors that create disciplinary issues. This conference will provide insights into understanding behavior, the evolving spectrum of disciplinary responses, and recognizing the importance of repairing relationships and building skills.
9:00-9:30am - Registration
9:30-10:45am - Dr. David McAdam: Using Function-Based Thinking to Support Student Behavior
10:45-11:45am - Jane Gabriele, Esq: Discipline and Suspension by the Regulations
11:45am-1:00pm - Lunch and Key Note: Dr. Ruth Turner, NYS Regent: Restorative Practices and Trauma-Informed Thinking
1:00-2:15pm – Panel of Local School Staff: Alternatives to Suspension
This is a hybrid event.
