Laura Arrington and Starbridge were nominated for a Community Partner Award and honored at the fourth annual Civic Engagement Awards ceremony at St. John Fisher College on April 28, 2017. The awards recognize students and faculty at Fisher, and community partners like Starbridge who collaborate with the college to promote civic engagement and community service.

In her role as Family and Youth Education Coordinator, Laura collaborates with professors in the Ralph C. Wilson School of Education at Fisher to prepare students to become inclusive, culturally responsive, collaborative teachers who are dedicated to service learning.

Jenny Hutkowski, Director of Family and Youth Education, comments, "Laura has been instrumental in maintaining and building this collaborative, which ultimately benefits families and children by preparing future teachers to work with families in a culturally responsive and compassionate manner. We love to see the 'aha' moments that the college students experience."
