Dear friends,

As you know, New York State has been on PAUSE since mid-March. The Governor has announced that the Finger Lakes region, including Rochester, can begin a phased reopening of businesses on Friday, May 15th. This is part of his NY Forward plan for reopening the state, to happen in stages.

The first phase will focus on construction, manufacturing, wholesale, agriculture, and curbside retail locations. If Covid infections in our region do not increase during Phase 1, then two weeks later, Phase 2 businesses such as professional offices may be able to reopen.

So, what does this means for Starbridge? We have been providing services without interruption since the pandemic began, and that will not change. We are thankful for and proud of all Starbridge staff, particularly those in our residential and community living services and their commitment to supporting people with disabilities round the clock to stay safe and healthy.

We closed our main office to outside visitors in mid-March and will keep it that way until we get the approval for phase 2. We will monitor the guidance from Monroe County, the Regional Control Room, CDC, OPWDD, and other regulatory agencies.

In the meantime, Nikisha Ridgeway, Starbridge’s Chief Operating Officer, and I are working with directors and senior leaders to assess our operations and what we must change to ensure a safe environment for staff and visitors in all of our locations. This virus is not going away anytime soon and we must remain vigilant in our practices to avoid catching it and spreading it to each other or those we serve.

If you are looking to connect with us, please phone or email the appropriate staff member or use our Contact Us form on our website at www.StarbridgeInc.org.

Thank you for being a valued partner as we navigate through this crisis.

Kind regards,
