Dive into swimming at the YMCA! This event is designed to provide a supportive environment for children with diverse needs to enjoy and learn in the water. Families will select one date to attend, and parents will be asked to complete an adaptive swim questionnaire to help our lifeguards understand each child’s abilities and needs.

Parents must remain in the pool area during the session. While you don’t need to be in the water unless your child requires 1:1 support, your presence ensures a safe and supportive experience.

We encourage families to share any details that will help us best support your child. For example:

• Does your child need goggles or earplugs?
• Are they just beginning to learn or already confident in the water?
• Do they need medication close by? (The YMCA can safely store it.)
• Is your child afraid of water? We have strategies to make them feel comfortable.

If additional support is needed, we encourage families to ask their providers for assistance.

Please note: Parents must provide swimsuits and towels. The YMCA will supply life jackets for those who need them.
